Orillia Hotels - Comfort Inn

The Comfort Inn in Orillia is located close to highway "on and off" ramps for easy access to travellers. Travelling along Highway 12 towards Memorial Avenue it's large sign is easily visible, and the hotel itself can be seen as you approach the stop lights at Highway 12 and Memorial Avenue - one of Orillia's business districts. The Comfort in is long and low, being only two stories tall, and has 80 guest rooms (some of which are handicap equipped). The grounds are nicely landscaped and the property and hotel is well kept and clean, and they are also pet friendly. (Please read the requirements for pets on their bookings page.)

Amenities include tea and coffee in the lobby (24/7), breakfast, wireless highspeed internet access,  free local phone calls,  and in the guest rooms a coffee pot,  blow dryer and irons, and some rooms have small fridges and microwaves. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, however just steps from the front door is an Arby's (fast food/roast beef) and a Tim Horton's, and within walking distance (visible from the hotel) there is a Kelsey's, Swiss Chalet, Harveys, The Grape and Olive, and East Side Marios and Wendy's, so there is no end of places to eat without even getting into your car.

Further down Memorial Avenue (heading "into town") are more - Burger King, MacDonalds, Pizza Hut, Theos (Italian and Greek), Hills (family restaurant), Donut Line (coffee shop with some food) and at the bend of Memorial Avenue, a Dairy Queen. By the time you hit Dairy Queen you are entering the downtown district and the Orillia Soldier's Memorial Hospital can be seen from Dairy Queen, just a block away.

It's location from the waterfront isn't much more than a 7 minute drive, so if you are planning to attend any downtown or waterfront festivals, you are close to the fun, and of course, close to the downtown shopping district. It's also only 5 or so minutes from the Westridge shopping district, where you'll find the requiste Walmart, as well as stores like Pennington's, Hallmark, Payless Shoes, Home Depot, Mark's Work Wear House, Reitman's, Winners, Future Shop and a great snack food place - the Bulk Barn. There's also a dollar store, and kids clothing store called Bonnie Togs (carries Oshkosh at reasonable prices) and a Food Basics grocery store, along with a number of bank branches - Scotia, TD and Royal Banks, and some restaurants - Montana's Steakhouse (really good food), a Subway, Boston Pizza, A & W, and of course, another Tim Horton's.

Since no one I know personally has stayed at the Comfort Inn, I can't really give you any personal recommendations, but you can read some of the reviews from patrons on their Places Page. They seem to be fairly good reviews for the most part.
